Rainy days and Sundays

August 18, 2010

On Sunday the floods came.  I’ve never seen so much water.  Papa had to tie the house down so that it wouldn’t float away, and the little Beans were stir crazy and spent much of the day in search of creative [read: destructive] means of entertainment.  Papa shut himself up in his office and watched movies on his computer.  Hyacinth snoozed much of the day while poor Rooster was a nervous wreck.  Someone mentioned that hurricane season started July 1st, and he hasn’t had a moment’s rest since.

Needless to say, it wasn’t a relaxing weekend, and then I caught seasickness from all of the commotion and searched the whole house for a dramamine, but we were out, and I didn’t have a boat to go to the store, so I settled for a super-sized glass of chardonnay and a bowl of ice-cream.

Barring any interruptions (or confinements), we’ll return to the Bean history next week.  In the meantime, here are some pictures of the flood at Maison Bean.

A leisurely start to a rainy Sunday morning.

Hyacinth on watch for drowning kitty cats.

Moose takes up watch with Hyacinth. (We don't bother with clothes on days like this.)

Mommy and Moose snooze while Jax is on the loose with a sticker book.

Returning from swimming lessons with Papa, Jax is still full of mischievous energy.... It's going to be a long evening.

LOL! Chardonnay and ice cream! Is there anything they can’t do? Looks like you guys had fun in the rain!

It’s a great combination, I tell you. Someone should market the idea! We really did have fun.

Thanks for visiting, Pop!!!
