Happy Presidents Day, Mr. George Obama

February 20, 2012

The presidents: from Alpha to Omega. This morning in the car.

Jax: Mommy, today is President’s Day.

Me:  Yes, it is.

Jax: Does Kate have to go to school today?

Me: No, she’s off for President’s Day too.

Jax: I know who the president is.

Me: You do?

Jax: Yeah, he’s George Washington Obama.

Memo to self:

• Add teach Jax American history and current events to Papa’s list of Things You Gotta Do to Prevent a Substantial Rent Increase.

• Explain to Mimi that the Tooth Fairy is on a budget and Jax has 32 teeth, which is why he only got a dollar last night.

There should be a way to actually send that conversation to the president. Hilarious. And yeah, how the tooth fairy affords to leave any child over $1, I will never know. They have a lot of darn teeth!

Love that! Great post!! I miss hearing what my kids said when they were young. Although, I guess I hear it at my job daily!

My friend’s son used to call it “George Lincoln Day”. Funny how they hear things!

Yes, happy birthday, Mr. President. Might I point out that President Washington Obama is looking particularly dashing with his wig tucked alluringly behind his ear? Perhaps you should suggest this ‘do for the next presidential appearance; maybe it would win over some of those who speak shrilly about the Real America.

He’s very smart! He knew TWO presidents, even if he didn’t know he knew it. That’s my boy.
