Jax: Moose, do you want to play with me?
Moose: Nah.
Jax: Mommy, we’re going to have to buy another baby so I have somebody to play with me.
Not an idea I’m willing to entertain, so I play Go Fish with him, and I lose. We play again. I lose again, and it occurs to me that he’s cheating.
Mimi calls him “mini Jenny.”
He’s bossy, materialistic, a consummate negotiator; he loves ice cream, pizza, Scooby Doo, the beach, and his little brother. He’s mischievous, a cherub when he sleeps, and all is right with the world when he laughs.
There’s a sprinkling of angel kisses across his nose and a twinkle in his eyes. He is my sun and my moon, my little soccer star. He is the baby I brought home from the hospital five years ago with colic and a raging case of diaper rash—the baby that made a broken family whole again.
He is hope. He is love. He is the future.

JB.. Jax, just like you, is a beautiful piece of work! Just don’t introduce him to Taco Bell!..Leave it at Pizza and ice cream! That would just be too scary.
Great post! I teared up reading it. Those boys are LOVED 🙂
He is GORGEOUS
Lilli: for some strange reason, I can’t get that kid interested in Mexican food. Took him to the good Mexican restaurant over the weekend, ordered him a cheese quesadilla, then a taco, then I offered some nachos, and it was finally the chopped steak that he ate.
Hopeful CC: We do love them.
Katie: Thank you!
Happy Birthday Jax, I can’t beleive it’s been 5 years already!
He is adorable!
Oh, it’s his birthday?
Happy Happy Birthday Jax! Eat lots of cake and wipe your hands on Papa’s pants. He won’t mind.
What a beautiful post. That’s a wonderful little family you have.
Minnie: Thank you and a Happy Birthday to Miss Chloe Jane too!
Irene: Papa is okay with dirty hands as long as he gets some cake! And, yes, it is Jax’s birthday–well, last week, but there was so much going on that I didn’t have a minute to write.
Ally: Thank you.
Like a poem! Five is pretty much my favorite age (not that it goes downhill from here…), just love kids at five!
Oh, little buddy! I just love gushy posts about kids- they make me love my own kids more, and forget about the stressful night we just had. Also, that’s a really cute pic.
Betsy: it is a fun age. They’re still just innocent little kids, and they ask a lot of questions I don’t know how to answer.
Jeanette aka Crafty: Thank you!
Those angel kisses across his nose are so very adorable! He is gorgeous!
Happy birthday, Jax! Nothing is more precious than our kids 🙂
Oh shoot Jenny. Now you’re getting sappy. That was beautiful. And so is your boy.
